About

Giovanni Gastaldi is an illustrator, comic artist, and book cover designer.

He created the original cover designs for Ne/oN Libri and has worked with publishing houses such as Edizioni E/O and Mondadori. A graphic novelist, he made his debut with David Hockney: A Graphic Novel (Prestel, 2022), contributes to La Revue, and is set to publish Sono il mare aperto (Lapis Edizioni) in early 2027. His editorial illustrations appear in national and international magazines and newspapers, including L’Espresso, Il Sole 24 Ore, The Good Life, and Monocle. He has also published several picture books with Aboca Kids, Lapis, Effatà, Gallucci, Anorak and various other publishers.

He lives and works in her hometown Mondovì, Italy with his two dogs, Coffee and Stellina.

Giovanni is also Vice President and Art Director of the NoSignal ETS cultural association. With the association, he oversees and directs the creative aspects of the website’s content and the print edition of the magazine, and serves as creative director for the project “Fuori Segnale – dialoghi inter-generazionali.”
